If you’re looking for a great family vacation spot, why not check out the South Florida region? No matter your children’s ages or interests, there is something for everyone. Here is a sampling of fun-filled outings the whole family will enjoy from DAS Demo.

For Kids Interested in Animals

South Florida’s tropical climate makes it the perfect home for many animals. Kids love Miami’s Monkey Jungle, where families can drive through 30 acres of primate territory. Jungle Island, another Miami attraction, is commonly known as Parrot Jungle, though the site contains much more than the colorful birds. There are also reptiles and primates, as well as nature trails and even a private beach.

For Kids Who Love the Water

South Florida offers beautiful beaches on its western and eastern coasts. On the east coast, Key Biscayne, Matheson Hammock, and South Beach are sure to please. On the west coast, kids can enjoy swimming and collecting seashells at the many beaches along the Gulf of Mexico, including spots in Naples and Sarasota.

For Kids Who Like Art and Culture

At the Miccosukee Indian Village, an Indian village located just outside Miami, kids can experience airboat rides in the Everglades, watch alligator wrestling, and learn about Indian culture.

For a more artistic outing, check out the Miami Children’s Museum, which showcases exhibits on dinosaurs and Miami history. The museum also offers dance classes and houses a recording studio.

For Kids Who Want Entertainment

Sawgrass Mills, located in Sunrise, Florida, is an outlet mall— and one of the largest malls in the United States. However, Sawgrass offers much more than just your typical department stores. It includes a movie theater, a number of outdoor plazas, and countless restaurants, as well as several kid-friendly rides.

While your teens are enjoying the hundreds of shops at Sawgrass Mills, younger kids will be amazed by a unique theme park in the mall called Wannado City. At Wannado City, kids can pretend to be everything from an astronaut to a TV news anchor. The attraction takes role-playing to a whole new level, offering kids a glimpse of what it’s like to live their dreams.

These are just a few of the outings South Florida offers families. Whether you’re in a big city like Miami or a smaller city like Sarasota, there are tons of options to keep your kids active and engaged. Of course, if money is an issue, you can always just head for a day of sand and sun at the nearest beach!
